At Nijo Castle, the original paintings of the Ninomaru Palace Barrier Paintings (Important Cultural Property) are exhibited at the “Nijo Castle Barrier Paintings Exhibition and Collection” for four periods a year. The details of the first exhibition, “Cherry Blossoms and Landscapes in Kuroshoin: A Japanese-Chinese Competition in the Facing Place,” are now available for viewing. This time, we will exhibit the original paintings of Kuroshoin, where the Shogun and high-ranking officials met, including flower-and-bird paintings featuring Japanese spring and landscape paintings featuring Chinese landscapes.
Please take this opportunity to visit Nijo Castle.
