Goldwyn will open “THE NORTH FACE Sphere” on July 1.
A new flagship store for the athletic category in a comprehensive lineup of stores in the Harajuku area that offers everything from outdoor activities to lifestyle.
The building is said to embody the minimalist attitude of “getting the maximum effect with the minimum” that THE NORTH FACE practices in its manufacturing, learning from the rational and waste-free beauty of nature. The structure is designed in consideration of the environment and resources by reducing the overall weight of the building and reducing power consumption by enhancing the outer skin performance, and is in harmony with nature.
The store will exclusively offer environmentally friendly products that employ the “EXPLORE SOURCE” circular upcycling project based on the concept of “product-to-product recycling,” as well as products with excellent abrasion durability that offer long life. Running and athletic items have been added to the lineup of items in a wide variety of sizes and freely customizable colors.
On the third floor of the building, there will be events linked to trail running competitions and marathons such as UTMF (Ultra Rail Mount Fuji) and the Shonan International Marathon, as well as a pop-up stand offering unique repair services with counseling by professional staff, providing a special experience for each season. The event space will be set up to provide special experiences for each season.
In addition, a service counter with a concierge service function will be deployed to provide both online and offline assistance with necessary items and field information.
