Matavali Ultra Supercritical Pressure Coal-Fired Thermal Power Project (6)

Posted on 2022-05-232022-05-23 by News Admin

In Bangladesh, demand for electric power has increased rapidly due to stable economic growth and industrialization in recent years. However, the country currently relies on gas-fired power generation for approximately 70% of its electricity generation, and there are concerns that excessive dependence on a single energy source could lead to energy supply disruptions, soaring supply costs, and other energy security issues in the event of some problem with the fuel supply or related facilities. Therefore, it is an important issue to diversify the energy supply structure. The government of this country aims to establish a power supply system that can stably supply electricity day and night and in all weather conditions by developing multiple energy hubs, including this project.

This cooperation aims to expand the electricity supply and diversify energy sources in the country by constructing a high-efficiency ultra-supercritical pressure coal-fired power plant, a coal loading port, transmission lines, access roads, and other related facilities in Matabari District, Chotgram District in the southeastern part of the country, thereby contributing to the overall economic revitalization in the country. The project will contribute to the revitalization of the country’s economy as a whole.
