Roses Bloom in May! Relaxing Day Trip to Ashikaga Flower Park and Sano

Posted on 2022-05-282022-05-28 by News Admin

First, let’s get hungry! Ashikaga’s Specialty: Daikon Soba Noodles What is Ashikaga’s specialty? I looked it up and found something called “Daikon Soba”. Daikon? Soba? Not grated daikon? I was curious to find out what kind of soba it was, so I went to “Ishibiki Soba Ichii”. It takes about two hours from Tokyo to Ashikaga by car. I arrived hungry and ordered a set of Tempura and Daikon Soba which looked delicious. It was a weekday and the restaurant was crowded with local customers. As a restaurant loved by the locals, you can surely expect the taste to be good as well. The daikon soba that was brought to us had daikon radish cut into soba noodles and served with soba noodles. I thought it would be raw and crunchy, but when I tried it, it boiled a little. I thought it was raw and crunchy, but when I tried it, I found that it had been slightly boiled, so it was soft and a little crispy, an exquisite texture. This goes perfectly with soba! It acts like grated daikon radish and makes your mouth feel refreshed. The tempura is crispy and exactly what I want tempura to be. The prawn tempura was also large, which was nice. The soba was delicious, but the tempura was also of a very high level. The daikon radish and soba go well together as if they were soba noodles, and the crispy texture of the tempura made me enjoy this Ashikaga specialty.

Fun no matter what season you go! Ashikaga Flower Park And finally, we arrived at the long-awaited Ashikaga Flower Park. As soon as we entered the park, we were excited to see the open flower stage and the expansive greenery. It was mid-May when I visited the park, but the famous wisteria had already finished its best season, and roses, clematis, and rhododendrons were in full bloom. I had no idea that clematis was such a beautiful flower. Rhododendrons can be seen at Kibana Wisteria and Rhododendron Forest. Ashikaga Flower Park has a variety of flowers that can be enjoyed any time of the year: roses in May, irises and hydrangeas in June, and water lilies in summer. This is a place you’re likely to visit again and again. …… I feel that not only the flowers and greenery, but also the many bodies of water contribute to the openness of Ashikaga Flower Park. It made me feel cool even though it was hot that day. The main seasonal flowers are wonderful, but the flowers that decorate the sides of the park are also pretty and worth seeing.
