Digital College KAGA conducted a route verification in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, using a “flying car” paramotor to actually fly a person over an urban area.
In this verification, the vehicle flew 25 km over Kaga City at an altitude of approximately 100 m to 200 m for approximately one hour from Yamanaka Onsen in the mountains to Hashidate Fishing Port on the coast, landing on the ground of an elementary school. Various issues for the installation of ground equipment and routes for flying vehicles will be verified, and a detailed report on the results will be announced at the Flying Mobility Symposium to be held in Kaga City later this summer.
Flying cars can fly distances of 100 km to 300 km. They can take off and land on runways as small as a small helipad without the need to build a large runway. They can also fly for more than one hour, carry multiple cameras and laser sensors, and fly at altitudes lower than 300 meters.
