The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on June 8 in Manila for a grant of up to 1.8 billion yen for the “Emergency Socio-Economic Infrastructure Development Plan for the Bangsamoro Region.
This cooperation will help discharged soldiers from the armed forces to acquire technical and vocational skills to meet local industrial needs in the Bangsamoro region through the reconstruction of the Human Resource Development Center in Malawi City and the procurement of equipment for a vocational training center, as well as support for the development of necessary socioeconomic infrastructure in the region. The program also provides support for the development of necessary social and economic infrastructure in the region.
In addition, this project will contribute to the consolidation of peace and social stabilization in the region through the reconstruction and improvement of vocational training facilities, thereby contributing to SDG Goal 4 (quality education for all) and Goal 16 (peace and justice for all).
