Airbus announced that its first A321XLR aircraft (registration MSN11000) made a successful maiden flight on June 15 (Hamburg time). The aircraft flew for approximately 4 hours and 35 minutes from Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport in Germany, testing various systems including flight control.
The A321XLR, “XLR” meaning “extra long range,” is expected to be able to operate on unprecedented long-haul routes, and is scheduled to enter service in early 2024.
