Uganda’s health indicators are average or worse than most in sub-Saharan Africa, especially maternal mortality rate, which has been declining in recent years, but is still far from achieving the target values set in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to limited access to health care services for the poor, women, children, and other vulnerable groups in society, the lack of organizational capacity in health care facilities and inadequate management of medical equipment are also challenges. As a result, under the management of the Ministry of Health, improvements in the quality of health care services and effective and efficient use of health infrastructure were observed. This cooperation will establish patient safety management procedures through 5S-CQI-TQM at target facilities, develop a hospital safety reporting system, and share knowledge on patient safety with related parties to foster a culture of patient safety under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and contribute to improving the quality of health care services.
