The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) of up to 10 billion yen with the Government of the Republic of Senegal for the “Universal Health Coverage Support Program (Phase 2)” in Dakar on June 16.
Through financial support, this project aims to promote the implementation of the following high priority policies to achieve UHC as well as to overcome the Corona disaster: (1) strengthening governance and finances, (2) improving the health care system for the poor and vulnerable groups, and (3) strengthening the delivery system of basic health care and social action services. It will promote economic and social stability and development efforts in Senegal, and contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 3 (health and welfare for all) and 10 (eliminate inequality among people and countries).
