The Villa & Barrel Lounge, a hotel where guests can stay in rooms with beer taps, opens in Shizuoka City

Posted on 2022-06-292022-06-29 by News Admin

West Coast Brewing, which has a craft brewery in front of Shizuoka City’s Yoso fishing port, will open its directly operated hotel, The Villa & Barrel Lounge (2-26-1 Yoso, Suruga-ku, Shizuoka City), on July 1.

West Coast Brewing, which makes craft beer in the owner’s hometown of the United States, is located in a rich natural setting surrounded by the ocean and mountains. The newly built hotel across the street from the brewery has a total of five guest rooms. In the taproom on the first floor of the hotel, guests can always enjoy about 10 kinds of fresh craft beers and sample rare “barrel-aged beers,” which are aged in barrels over a long period of time. The hotel also has a barrel lounge with an array of wooden barrels.

All rooms are equipped with beer taps for the exclusive use of guests. The servers are connected to specially brewed beer, and you can drink as much as you want, up to 10 liters. In addition, if guests bring their own growler (my bottle exclusively for carbonated beer and other beers) with the all-you-can-drink beer plan, they can also pump it and take it home with them. A variety of canned beer is also available in the refrigerators of the in-room mini-bars (for a fee).

In addition, the brewery across the street offers “brewery tours” on Saturdays and Sundays only. Visitors can see the actual brewing facilities and listen to an explanation of the brewing process. Advance reservations are required through the official website, and anyone can participate regardless of whether or not they are staying at the hotel (for a fee, a souvenir beer is included).
