Announced the design of the renewed “Kiha 47” train that will operate in the Western Kyushu area in conjunction with the opening of the Western Kyushu Shinkansen Line from Takeo Onsen to Nagasaki.

JR Kyushu (Kyushu Railway Company) has announced the design of the renewed “Kiha 47” train that will begin operating in the Western Kyushu area in conjunction with the opening of the Western Kyushu Shinkansen Line between Takeo Onsen Station and Nagasaki Station.

The entire body of the train is colored blue to represent the Ariake Sea. The sides of the train are decorated with shining yellow waves and orange waves as the setting sun sinks into the waves. The name of the location where the train will operate (NAGASAKI ISAHAYA TARA KASHIMA SHIROISHI KOUHOKU OMACHI TAKEO ARITA SASEBO) is written on the upper side.

Starting on September 23, it will operate between Ekita (Hizen Yamaguchi) on the Nagasaki Main Line and Ekita (Hizen Yamaguchi) – Hayaki on the Nagasaki/Sasebo Line.
