On July 1, the Portuguese National Tourist Board announced that it has updated its information on travel for the coronary disaster and that it is no longer necessary to present negative certificates and vaccination certificates, which were previously required.
From now on, the negative test results of PCR within 72 hours and antigen test within 24 hours will no longer be required for entry into Portugal, and travelers will be able to freely visit Portugal. This will apply to all travelers regardless of nationality and regardless of country of origin, and will also apply at land and sea borders.
According to the authorities, the tourism market in Portugal is already on the move at present, with many tourists, especially those traveling from Europe. Furthermore, statistics for April 2022 show that the number of overnight visitors exceeded the number before the Corona disaster (April 2019).
The rules on the mainland continue to require the wearing of masks when using public transportation, cabs, airplanes, and visiting medical facilities. In addition, it is recommended to avoid crowded places, wash hands, and practice good breathing etiquette.
Other detailed information on travel and local corona measures are available on the Portuguese National Tourist Board’s website.
