East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will launch a new service that integrates its three businesses of transportation, lifestyle, and IT/Suica, “Somewhere in Boon! will be launched in December.

This is a service for “Ekinet” members that allows them to travel to any one of four possible destinations (Shinkansen stations) recommended by the company at random, and use 6,000 of their accumulated “JRE POINT” to board a round-trip reserved seat on a standard train.

Departure stations can be selected from Tokyo Station/Ueno Station/Omiya Station, and destinations are generally 150 km or more from Tokyo Station (to Shin-Aomori Station in the furthest case). You can stay for a minimum of 5 hours for a one-day trip and up to 7 days for an overnight stay. It is also possible to ride side by side with a friend using each of your points of interest. The company hopes that through travel to unexpected places, people will enjoy new encounters and experiences.

In addition, “Shinkansen Somewhere Adventure Days” will be held as an advance trial event over three days in late September.
