RV Park, an overnight stay facility, is introduced at “Roadside Station Akan Tancho no Sato” in Kushiro, Hokkaido. Visitors can enjoy a free one-day hot spring bath and local delicacies.

Roadside Station Akan Tancho no Sato (23-36-1, Kami-Asan, Akan-cho, Kushiro City, Hokkaido), operated by the Akan Tourism Promotion Public Corporation, will begin offering RV park (overnight stay facilities) on July 13.

Located approximately 8 km from the Akan IC of the East Hokkaido Expressway, Roadside Station Akan Tanto no Sato is dotted with various facilities, including Akai Beret, an accommodation facility where visitors can enjoy a one-day hot spring bath, Restaurant Tsuru, Akan Marche, which offers a variety of Kushiro specialties, and the Akan International Crane Center “Gurusu.

The newly introduced RV park is located in the “Red Beret” parking lot, and the roadside restrooms are available 24 hours a day; the fee for one lot (7 x 5 m) is 1,500 yen, or 2,000 yen for power use, and the fee includes trash disposal and hot spring bathing for one person. Check-in time is 13:00 and check-out time is 12:00. Reservations can be made by phone or e-mail. The facility will be open until the end of October.

The facility is also known by the nickname “Cranes Terrace,” which means “a place for cranes to gather and relax,” as more than 200 red-crowned cranes gather there every winter. In addition, there is a park golf course, bike rentals, a campground with a BBQ corner, and a dog run, allowing visitors to fully enjoy outdoor leisure activities in the vast nature.
