Okinawa Prefecture is urging people to refrain from going out of their homes unnecessarily, as the spread of the new coronavirus in the prefecture has begun to tighten medical care. The requested period is set for July 22 to August 14.
In addition to refraining from unnecessary outings, the latest request calls for thorough daily infection control measures such as ventilation and wearing masks, refraining from large or lengthy gatherings such as dinners with no more than four people and lasting no more than two hours, and creating an infection prevention safety plan and notifying the prefecture at events attended by more than 1,000 people.
Visitors from outside the prefecture are urged to take basic infection control measures and bring more medicine for their chronic illnesses, in addition to prior vaccination and confirmation of negative tests.
