Izumo City will hold the “Sunset Terrace Misaki de Nolitaibiri Jikan (Relaxing Time at Sunset Terrace Misaki)” at Himinozaki in August.
Himizaki is located at the westernmost tip of the Shimane Peninsula, an area where visitors can enjoy beautiful sunsets. In the old time unit, 17:00 to 19:00 was the “rooster hour,” which was considered the boundary between this world and the everlasting world as the switching point between day with the sun and night without it. The plan calls for a spot near the Izumo-Himigozaki Lighthouse, where visitors can enjoy drinks and snacks while watching the sun set over the Sea of Japan from the cliff top.
Dates are August 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The fee is 3,000 yen per person, and the maximum number of participants is 10 for each day. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. three days prior to the day of the event.
