“Snow Peak Land Station Tokyo” opens in KITTE Marunouchi. A full lineup of outdoor fun items from camping equipment to apparel.

On July 30, Snow Peak opened Snow Peak LAND STATION TOKYO at KITTE Marunouchi (2-7-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a commercial facility located right in front of Tokyo Station.

This is the expanded and renewed version of the Snow Peak Marunouchi directly managed store, which had been open for some time. This is the third “LAND STATION” business type store, following Hakuba Village in Nagano Prefecture and Arashiyama in Kyoto.

A noteworthy point is the addition of a café inside the store. In addition to a food menu that takes food loss and environmental issues into consideration, “Japanese black tea,” which offers a new way to enjoy Japanese tea, has been adopted as a drink menu item.

The cafe space can also be used as a coworking space on weekdays only. What is unique is that the fee, which is set for 90 or 120 minutes, includes the cost of coffee, which can be self-drip freely using Snow Peak products. You can look forward to a change of pace while you work.

Let’s get started by taking a look inside the Snow Peak Land Station Tokyo! Let’s start with the store’s limited items. The titanium stacking mugs and split-tip spoons come in a coloring reminiscent of “Edomurasaki. The bluish purple is very nice and noble.

Other limited items include a “stainless steel ECO cup” and a T-shirt made using Tsubame-Sanjo metal polishing technology, with a limit of one per person. In celebration of the opening, customers who purchase 30,000 yen or more will receive a sierra cup with the “Snow Peak LAND STATION TOKYO” logo on it. Quantities are limited, so be quick!

In the center of the sales floor, tents and shelters are displayed spaciously. There are only a few stores in the Yamanote Line area where you can actually see the size and space. Now you can go see a Snow Peak tent you’ve been curious about from the online store or catalog on your way home from work. In addition to camping gear, there is also a sales area in the back of the store where bags, backpacks, hats, clothing, and other items are lined up.

In addition, as a “proposal for a lifestyle of using good things for a long time,” the store sells products born from traditional crafts in various regions of Japan. The products are characterized by their ability to convey the local scenery and stories of craftsmanship. Snow Peak’s products, with their lean and sophisticated design, would look right at home next to crafts and folk art.

The aforementioned rates for weekday-only coworking use are 1,650 yen for 90 minutes and 1,980 yen for 120 minutes. Extension is 495 yen per 30 minutes. The view from the window is of the city in the middle of Tokyo. You can catch a glimpse of trains and Shinkansen departing from and arriving at Tokyo Station.

Snow Peak Land Station Tokyo aims to be a “gateway for outdoor activities” that connects city dwellers with nature, taking advantage of its location near Tokyo Station. The “Wild Play Concierge” service is another service that Snow Peak Land Station Tokyo offers. Using tablets placed in the store, knowledgeable staff members guide visitors to Snow Peak’s various locations. The tablet allows customers to make reservations on the spot for campsites, glamping, and other activities, and whereas reservations can normally be made up to three months in advance, the tablet allows reservations to be made up to four months ahead.

They plan to offer bus tours to and from Tokyo Station, and the first tour will be an apparel camping event called FIELDWORK.

Snow Peak Café’s main menu features curry. There are three types of curry: “Outdoor Beef Curry” (1,518 yen), which is made by slowly simmering Hokkaido beef with spices; “Bean and Vegetable Curry” (1,408 yen), which is gluten-free and vegan; and “Matagi’s Venison Spice Curry” (1,628 yen), which is made by simmering Ezo deer. Aigake Curry (1,628 yen), in which you can choose two of your favorite curries, is also available.

I tasted three kinds of curry at the preview, and I liked the bean and vegetable curry with lots of tomatoes the best. The rice is made from Iwakubi Shoryu Tanada Rice from Sado Island, harvested during Snow Peak’s “LOCAL WEA TURISM” tour event.

The concept of Land Station is “a guide to life and outdoor activities deeply rooted in the local area. The “Tokyo” Land Station is located in the heart of the city and will play a different role from the other two, becoming a new “wild outing” center.
