Hankyu Corporation installs platform fences at all stations. Aiming for Barrier-Free

Posted on 2022-08-042022-08-04 by News Admin

Hankyu Corporation has announced that it will install platform fences at all stations and aims to make all stations barrier-free.

With the cooperation of the national government and local governments along our rail lines, we are working to improve movable platform fences and barrier-free facilities. In order to further accelerate these efforts, the company will install movable or fixed platform fences at all stations, which are particularly in need of early installation, to enhance safety on the platforms. Nakatsu Station, the only station on the company’s line where it has been difficult to secure a barrier-free route due to its station structure, will also be equipped with an elevator and other facilities, with the aim of making all stations barrier-free.

The cost of barrier-free facilities is expected to exceed 90 billion yen from FY2021 to FY2035. In order to promote the maintenance of barrier-free facilities more quickly and steadily, the “Railway Station Barrier-Free Fare System” established in December 2021 will be utilized. Barrier-free fares will be added to fares and used to cover the cost of barrier-free facilities.
