Ando Brewery, a long-established company in Akita Prefecture, is pre-selling “SOUS,” a modern version of a field seasoning that was eaten more than 300 years ago in the local Kakunodate area, on the support purchase site “Makuake”.
SOUS is an all-purpose seasoning specialized for wild outdoor cooking such as bonfires, and is available in two varieties: Sansho Miso and Kanko Koji, both of which utilize traditional Japanese ingredients. SOUS is said to be a “just put a dab of it on meat, fish, white rice, or any other food, and mix it in.
Prices start at 3,400 yen for a set of two (one of each). Reservations will be accepted until August 29, and delivery will be made after October.
