JR East Cross Station will release Shinkansen-themed goods to commemorate the railroad’s 150th anniversary, as well as goods in collaboration with the character Hatsune Miku, whose 15th anniversary will be in 2022.
Shinkansen goods will be available from August 23 at NewDays (52 targeted stores), GENERAL STORE RAILYARD, and TOKYO! (Tokyo Mitsu) will sell a total of 13 types. The Series 200 used in the early days of East Japan’s Shinkansen and the Series E2 “Series 200 Color Shinkansen” that appeared in June will be the focus of the merchandise, including the “Multi Smart Phone Case Series 200 and E2” (3,850 yen) and “Relief Ruler Series 200 and E2” (660 yen). Also released will be a collection of JR East Shinkansen products, including can badges (6 types, 880 yen each) depicting the old and new Shinkansen trains of Tohoku, Hokuriku, Akita, Yamagata, and Joetsu, in addition to Series 200 and E2.
The Hatsune Miku collaboration goods will be sold at NewDays (9 targeted stores) from August 30, and also at the online store “JRE MALL” from September 6. Seven types of goods will be available, including a set of three A4 clear files (1,500 yen) depicting Miku and the “ALFA-X” test vehicle, can badges (closed specs sold separately for 500 yen each, boxed for 3,000 yen), and acrylic key chains (closed specs sold separately for 770 yen each, boxed for 4,620 yen). The company will also offer seven different types of merchandise.
