Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced at a press conference held on August 31 that the maximum number of immigrants would be raised to 50,000 from September 7.
At the press conference, Prime Minister Kishida stated, “International exchanges are becoming more active around the world, and Japan will participate in such exchanges. In addition, further relaxation of border control measures will be implemented, such as raising the limit to 50,000 people and allowing entry into all countries through unaccompanied package tours. In addition, MySOS will be improved to facilitate the entry process at airports,” he said.
The company intends to further ease the situation, taking into consideration the infection situation and needs at home and abroad, as well as the water border control measures of countries around the world, in order to enable smooth entry into Japan on a par with the G7 countries.
