JR West will release the “Hiroshima Departure Dice Ticket” on September 15 as the second installment of its “Dice Ticket” series, in which travel destinations are determined by dice rolls on the app.
This ticket is one of the projects of “Aotabi,” an information transmission platform for Generation Z. It allows you to enjoy a train trip at a reasonable price during this autumn holiday season. The dice rolls for the destinations are Hakata, Matsue, and Himeji, three recommended stations in western Japan, and Kanazawa, a rare station in Kanazawa, for a total of four stations. All of them start and end in Hiroshima City, with a stopover possible at Kagaonsen Station in Kanazawa.
Sold through JR West’s online reservation service “e5489,” the fee is 5,000 yen per entry (including round-trip JR/entry fee). 1 entry per person is allowed, and up to 3 people can purchase at the same time (the fee is for the number of people).
Entry requires free “J-WEST Net” membership registration and download of the mobile life navigation app “WESTER” (Android/iOS version). Detailed usage and conditions will be posted on the dedicated “Dice Ticket from Hiroshima” website, which will go live on September 12.
In addition, a “Dice Ticket” real experience event is scheduled to be held at Hiroshima Station on September 16-17. Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
