On September 8, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of Palau for a grant aid of up to 2.14 billion yen for the “Power Grid Improvement Project.
This project will improve the stability of electricity supply in Koror and Babeldaob by upgrading the power grid in both islands. This project is expected to contribute to the improvement of the living environment of Palau’s residents and the promotion of the introduction of renewable energy, and will contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 7 (Energy for All and Cleaner) and Goal 13 (Tangible Action on Climate Change).
