The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of Mozambique in Maputo on September 8 for a grant of up to 2,987 million yen for the “Maputo Central Hospital Neonatal Unit Construction Project.
This project will improve the neonatal wing and medical equipment of Maputo Central Hospital, a core hospital located in the capital city of Maputo, to improve continuous and safe perinatal care services, including for newborns at the hospital. This project is expected to improve the quality of and access to maternal and child health services in Mozambique, contributing to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) Goal 3 (health and well-being for all).
