JR West Japan announced that due to the approach of Typhoon No. 14, the Sanyo Shinkansen between Hiroshima Station and Hakata Station will be cancelled from the first departure to the end of the day on September 19. The Hakata Minami Line will be suspended as well.
The number of trains between Shin-Osaka and Hiroshima Stations will be reduced from the first departure, and will be cancelled one after another from around 18:00. On the conventional lines, trains are scheduled to be cancelled in a wide area from the night of the 18th, and are expected to be suspended on the 19th as well.
JR Kyushu has suspended all-day operation of the Kyushu Shinkansen between Kumamoto and Kagoshima-Chuo stations from the first departure of the 18th, and also suspended all-day operation between Hakata and Kumamoto stations in the afternoon. The train service is also suspended between Hakata and Kumamoto Stations throughout the afternoon.
The JR Shikoku Line has also suspended operations between Kubokawa and Uwajima Stations on the Yodo Line since the first departure of the 18th, and the suspension area is expected to expand in the evening.
JR Tokai has announced that some sections of the Tokaido Shinkansen line may be suspended in the evening of the 19th.
