Citizen Watch will release a limited edition Eco-Drive Diver 200m model (BN0225-04L) with a whale shark motif from the Citizen Promaster line on October 20. It will be limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide and priced at 66,000 yen.
Whale sharks live in the ocean near the equator, where plankton is abundant, so the dial and bezel are deep blue to evoke the beauty of the sea. The dial is also printed with a pattern that resembles the spots of whale sharks. The case is the lug-less version of the “Professional Diver” introduced in 1982. The super titanium case is coated with the proprietary surface hardening technology “DuraTect MRK + DuraTect DLC. The watch is equipped with the photo-powered Eco-Drive system, which eliminates the need for periodic battery replacement.
A portion of the sales of this model will be used to support the marine conservation activities of Conservation International, an international NGO that implements initiatives to build a sustainable society through global environmental conservation.
