Tahiti is scheduled to resume direct flights from Narita in February 2023. Plenty to see and do, including Tahitian dance and canoeing, not to mention beaches!

At Tourism Expo Japan 2022 (September 22-25), the Tahiti Tourism Bureau is introducing popular resorts and culture at its booth.

Tahiti is the largest island belonging to French Polynesia, and it is well known that the French painter Paul Gauguin stayed there in the old days and left many works on the subject of the island.

Although currently out of service, direct flights from Narita by Air Tahiti Nui, a Tahitian airline, will resume on February 1, 2023. The beautiful emerald green ocean offers a variety of activities, including scuba diving. The airline also introduces trekking as a popular activity, ranging from casual nature courses for beginners to full-fledged courses on steep mountain paths.

On the cultural side, there is a guidebook that introduces “Heiva i Tahiti,” a major event in which people compete in traditional competitions such as dancing, outrigger canoe races, stone weightlifting, and quick shaving of coconuts, which is also interesting and full of attractions.
