The Japan Tourism Agency announced that the postponed “National Travel Assistance” will be held from October 11 to late December.
The support level is set at a uniform 40% as a measure to stimulate tourism demand throughout Japan. The maximum discount is 8,000 yen per night for travel products that include transportation by public transportation (rail, bus, cab, air, ferry, etc.), and 5,000 yen for other travel products. Coupons for souvenirs and other purchases will be given for 3,000 yen on weekdays and 1,000 yen on holidays.
The current prefectural discount support will be extended until October 10 for stays on October 10 (check-out on October 11). For more information, please contact the call center of each prefecture.
They also continue to urge people to take basic infection control measures before traveling.
