East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Netflix will operate one “Black Yamanote Line” train, inspired by the first locomotive at the time of the railroad’s inauguration, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Japan’s railroad service. The period is from October 1 to December 31.
The train will be fully wrapped in black, reminiscent of the No. 1 locomotive, and will feature a headmark and a commemorative logo for the 150th anniversary of the railroad on various parts of the car body. The Netflix logo design will also be included on the car body.
Inside the train, each car will have a space where passengers can enjoy the world of 14 Netflix movies.
