Kumoba Pond is a tourist attraction in Karuizawa and always shows its beauty throughout the four seasons. It is a wonderful place visited by many people who travel to Karuizawa.
There is a parking lot nearby, which is just right for me, as I often go there by car, so I can take a short detour and enjoy the scenery of each season. When there is no wind, trees are beautifully reflected on the surface of the lake, and ducks swim among them, creating beautiful patterns. The water in the pond comes from the Gozensui (water source) and is clear and clean.
There is a walking path along the pond, which is about 1.5 km long and takes about 30 minutes even if you walk slowly while taking pictures. The path is well-maintained and flat, making it easy to walk for everyone from children to the elderly. There are also couples in wedding dresses taking commemorative photos among the tourists.
The location is only 1.6 km from Karuizawa Station and within walking distance, so if you are going to visit Karuizawa, you should also visit Kumoba Pond. The best time to visit is from mid-October, when the leaves change color, making it a beautiful place to take pictures.
