Emergency Relief Aid for Hurricane Ian in the Republic of Cuba

In response to a request from the government of the Republic of Cuba, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies in response to the damage caused by Hurricane Ian in the Republic of Cuba as follows

  1. damage from the earthquake and tsunami

Hurricane Ian, which passed through the western region of the Republic of Cuba from September 26 to 27 (local time), has caused extensive human and material damage in the affected areas.

Damage as of October 3 (according to local government)

Dead: 3

Affected people: approx. 500,000

Evacuees: approx. 7,000
