Rakuten Travel offers unique program to save up to 60% on nationwide travel support. Use the app and coupons together.

Posted on 2022-10-11 by Editor in Chief

On October 11, Rakuten Travel announced its own measures to support nationwide travel.

The National Travel Assistance program usually subsidizes 40% of the trip price (up to 8,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation/up to 5,000 yen for other travel products) and grants coupons (3,000 yen on weekdays/1,000 yen on holidays) that can be used to purchase souvenirs and other items.

Rakuten Travel claims “up to 60% savings” by adding the above, plus 5% point rebate for app bookings (entry required) and up to 15% off with coupons.

For app bookings, in addition to the usual Rakuten Points of 1%, domestic stays will be rewarded with +5% and domestic tours (ANA Rakupack/JAL Rakupack) with +2% for online payment via the Rakuten Travel app for smartphones (Android/iOS) after entering on the campaign website. Both the entry and reservation periods are from 10:00 a.m. October 11 to 9:59 p.m. October 31. The eligible travel period is the same as the National Travel Support, October 11 – December 20 (including check-out on the 21st).

The coupon, on the other hand, uses Rakuten Travel’s monthly 5% off coupon distribution for domestic luxury and hot spring hotels on days that fall on the 5th and 0 (5/10/15/20/25/30), which can be combined with a further 10% off inn coupon to achieve a 15% discount.

Please check the website for entry and coupon application details.
