Tokaiken will sell ekiben under the theme of “reprinting” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the railroad until October 23. It will be sold at Tokaiken’s concourse store in JR Shizuoka Station and at a store on the second floor of the station’s ticket gate.
The makunouchi boxed lunch box comes with a wrapping paper that was used to celebrate the opening of the Tokaido Shinkansen in 1964. This wrapping paper was used for the opening of the Shinkansen on October 1, 1964.
In addition, a commemorative mini clear file is available with the purchase of a commemorative ekiben. The design is based on a nishikie (woodblock print) of the museum’s collection, “Yokohama Maritime Steam Car Railroad,” which Hiroshige Utagawa (3rd generation) drew from his imagination the year before the railroad’s opening.
