Posted on 2022-10-17 by Editor in Chief

Seibu Railway will conduct a cycle train demonstration test between Ihagi and Honkawagoe Stations on the Shinjuku Line on November 5 and 6, and between Akitsu and Seibu-Chichibu Stations on the Ikebukuro and Seibu-Chichibu Lines on November 26 and 27.

Cycle Train is a service that allows passengers to bring their bicycles on board the train without removing them from the train. For the experiment on the Shinjuku Line, six people will be accepted for the down train (Koedo No. 3) and up train (Koedo No. 34), and 10 people will be accepted for the down train (S-Train No. 1) and up train (S-Train No. 4) on the Ikebukuro Line and Seibu Chichibu Line. Participation fee is 1,500 yen one-way. Applications will be accepted until 9:00 a.m. on October 21 for the Shinjuku Line and until 4:00 p.m. on November 9 for the Ikebukuro and Seibu-Chichibu Lines.

On the Shinjuku Line, the limited express Red Arrow will make a temporary stop at Iogi Station, which is close to Kampachi-dori Avenue and convenient for bicycle access, and run to Honkawagoe Station. From Honkawagoe Station, cyclists can enjoy the Irumagawa Bicycle Path and Arakawa Bicycle Path.

On the Ikebukuro and Seibu-Chichibu lines, the S-Train, a toll-seat reserved train, will make a temporary stop at Akitsu Station, which is close to the Fuchu-kaido and Shiki Kaido highways, and run to Seibu-Chichibu Station. From Seibu-Chichibu Station, cyclists can enjoy courses such as Nagatoro Iwadatami, where the autumn leaves are at their best, and a tour of fuda-sho (tourist spots) and geo-sites.
