Rights and Brands, the Japanese distributor of the Moomin Characters, plans to open stores and cafes by companies that have signed licensing agreements with the Moomins.

The first permanent store in Ginza, “MOOMIN SHOP GINZA” (Ginza Inns 1, located at 3-1 Ginza Nishi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is scheduled to open in December. The store will carry original products using colors used by the author Tove Jansson in her picture books, as well as lifestyle goods, apparel, and imported products from Scandinavia.

In the spring of 2023, “MOOMIN CAFE” will open in Shibuya. The company plans to open more than 15 stores nationwide by 2025.

In addition, “Moomin” digital vending machines will be available for purchase of limited-edition products. The first one will be installed near Hanno Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, the closest station to Moomin Valley Park, in the spring of 2023. The park also plans to open 20 general merchandise stores selling a variety of items over the next three years.

In addition, a specialty “Moomin” sweets store is also planned for 2023 and beyond.
