Six bottlenose dolphins in the courtyard! The Kahala Hotel & Resort, a prestigious healing resort

Posted on 2022-10-222022-10-22 by Editor in Chief

With the drastic easing of entry restrictions in many countries, including Japan, it has become easier to travel abroad and return home. It’s that long-awaited resumption of international travel! In the midst of all this, the Hawaii Tourism Authority has released a series of virtual tour videos that provide the latest information on hotels and tourist facilities. The 10-minute video includes “I want to go to Hawaii! and is packed with the perfect update for those who are thinking, “I want to go to Hawaii!

This time, we would like to introduce The Kahala Hotel & Resort, located in the exclusive Kahala residential area, about 10 minutes east of Waikiki beyond Diamond Head. It is a prestigious luxury resort that is frequented by celebrities, so many of you may be thinking, “I’ve always dreamed of staying here someday! I’m sure there are many people who say “I’ve always wanted to stay here someday!

The chandelier in the Grand Lobby, the symbol of Kahala, has been in place since the hotel’s founding in 1964, and is made up of 28,000 pieces of colorful Venetian glass, making it extremely elegant!

Of the 338 guest rooms, the Scenic Lanai is the standard type, but it is so spacious that you might think, “This is a standard room? The ceiling fan spins to create a resort atmosphere, and the room has a warm, lemon-colored ceiling fan. The ceiling fan on the ceiling gives the room a resort-like atmosphere, and the lemon cream-colored walls give the room a warm feeling. The furniture is also very nice with a unique sense of style.

Entering the bathroom, the Kahala Hotel features a vanity and closet on each side, convenient for two people to use at the same time. In addition to the glass-enclosed shower booths, all rooms are equipped with deep soaking tubs. Another nice feature is that they are equipped with a hot-water washing toilet seat.

Next is the Ocean Front Suite, the hotel’s pride and joy. The living room and bedroom together make up a 102m2 corner room. The view from the lanai (veranda) is spectacular, with Koko Head on the left and Diamond Head on the right, and a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. The view from the lanai (veranda) is spectacular, with Koko Head on the left and Diamond Head on the right. It is a perfect view.

The “Presidential Suite,” a guest room type room, has a dining room next to the living room and one bedroom on each side, for a combined area of 204m2! This is not the level of “spaciousness” that one would expect from such a room. The furniture and bathrooms are also specially designed, and in the past, guests of state and Hollywood stars have stayed here.

“What other VIPs have stayed here?” If you are curious, head to the “Celebrity Wall” located in the corridor past the Grand Lobby. Here you will find photos of celebrities who have stayed at the hotel in the past. You can see photos of Hollywood stars and Japanese celebrities that everyone knows.

The Dolphin Lagoon in the courtyard is home to six bottlenose dolphins. There are several dolphin programs available, such as feeding, touching, and swimming with the dolphins. Just watching the dolphins swim about in the water is a relaxing experience!

Plumeria Beach House, a spacious restaurant right on the beach, is an all-day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The popular menu item, thinpancake, is Kahala Hotel’s original style pancake made by rolling thin pancakes. The way it is covered with a special maple butter sauce is irresistible.

The Kahala Hotel & Resort offers ocean view rooms as well as mountain side rooms with a beautiful view of the Ko’olau Mountains, which I found to be very attractive. The Wai’alae Country Club, an upscale golf course, is located nearby and is recommended for golfers as well. The rooms, spa, and restaurants are all attractive, but I was most taken by the cute dolphins.
