Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra, a hotel directly connected to Ala Moana Shopping Center

Posted on 2022-10-25 by Editor in Chief

With the drastic easing of entry restrictions in many countries, including Japan, it has become easier to travel abroad and return home. It’s that long-awaited resumption of international travel! In the midst of all this, the Hawaii Tourism Authority has released a series of virtual tour videos that provide the latest information on hotels and tourist facilities. The 10-minute video includes “I want to go to Hawaii! and is packed with the perfect update for those who are thinking, “I want to go to Hawaii!

In this issue, we introduce the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra, a hotel adjacent to Ala Moana Center, Hawaii’s largest shopping mall. The hotel, which is directly connected to the shopping center’s parking lot via a walkway called the Skywalk, was partially renovated during the pandemic, including the lobby and pool. It has also become more attractive with the addition of new restaurants.

The Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra consists of two buildings, the Waikiki Tower on the ocean side and the Kona Tower on the mountain side. This large hotel, suitable for families, extended stays, and work vacations, boasts a total of 1100 rooms. The Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra is conveniently located not only for vacations, but also for business, as it is only a 3-minute walk to the Hawaii Convention Center, where events and exhibitions are held.

Let’s start with the “Partial Ocean View” in the Kona Tower, which is located on the mountain side. Rooms are located on the 5th to 13th floors and are approximately 23m2 in size with a maximum occupancy of 2 people. The Kona Tower has no balcony and the rooms are a bit smaller than those in the Waikiki Tower, but it is recommended for those who only need a queen-size bed and want to keep costs down.

All guest rooms at Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra are equipped with microwave ovens, so you can heat up take-out lunches and side dishes from the shopping center or supermarket and eat them in your room.

Next is the Waikiki Tower, built on the ocean side. This building has a total of 800 rooms, all with balconies. From sunset to night view, you can enjoy the ever-changing beautiful scenery of Waikiki. The video introduces partial ocean views located on the 6th to 24th floors and one-bedroom suites with kitchenettes.

The one-bedroom suite, which can accommodate up to four people, is a spacious 52m2. It comes with a kitchenette equipped with cooking utensils, so it is especially recommended for long-term stays. Incidentally, there are four supermarkets in the vicinity of the hotel within walking distance. My dream is to have a room with a kitchenette where I can buy a big steak meat and grill it, and I think I can make it happen here!

The pool area on the third floor of the hotel, revamped in the Corona Disaster, has a sophisticated atmosphere with a sundeck, fire pit and cabanas. The fitness center, equipped with state-of-the-art machines, has a sauna and steam room.

The hotel also has “DaDa Spa & Salon” for relaxation massages, a coin-operated laundry, and a store selling snacks and beverages. The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood restaurant on the top 36th floor offers a spectacular view of the ocean, while CAFE 410 on the lobby floor offers a breakfast buffet with a wide variety of dishes. In addition, the Ala Moana Shopping Center is right next door, making it the most convenient location in the world!

The Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra is conveniently located just steps away from the popular Ala Moana Beach and adjacent to Honolulu’s largest shopping mall. Why not add the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra to your next stay in Hawaii?
