On November 1, Garuda Indonesia resumed its Narita – Denpasar route with three round trips per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays).

This is the first direct flight to Bali in two years and seven months, which had been suspended since April 2020 due to the new coronavirus. A commemorative ceremony was held at Narita Airport prior to the departure of GA881 to Denpasar, featuring Balinese dance performances and live gamelan music.

Mr. Irfan Stiaputra, CEO of Garuda Indonesia, attended the ceremony held near boarding gate 26 at Narita Airport’s Terminal 1. Japan has always been an important market for us, and we hope that the resumption of flights will further strengthen the ties between Japan and Indonesia through economic activities and travel,” he said.

Mr. John Cahuyanto Bustami, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Japan, attended the meeting on behalf of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. I would like to congratulate the resumption of regular flights today, which is an important step forward,” he said.

Garuda Indonesia currently operates the Haneda – Jakarta route twice a week, and with the resumption of the Narita – Denpasar route, the airline will operate two routes between Japan and Indonesia, five times a week. With the resumption of the Narita – Denpasar route, Garuda Indonesia will now operate two routes between Japan and Indonesia, with five flights per week.
