The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of Madagascar on October 26 in Antananarivo for a grant of up to 2,257 million yen for the “Rice Seed Production Field and Facility Development Project.
This project aims to increase the production of highly productive certified seed in the Arocha-Mangulu and Anaramanga districts by improving and renovating the facilities and equipment of the institutions responsible for the production and management of certified rice seed and the original seed necessary for the production of certified seed. This project is expected to increase rice production in Madagascar and contribute to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) Goal 2 (zero hunger).
