The Japan Weather Association released its third “Autumn Foliage Best Viewing Forecast” on November 2, 2011.
The best time to see the autumn leaves is earlier when the temperature is low in autumn (September to November) and later when the temperature is high. November temperatures are expected to be normal or slightly below normal in eastern Japan, and normal or slightly above normal in western Japan. The temperature is expected to be normal or slightly below normal in eastern Japan, and normal or slightly above normal in western Japan, with the colors changing steadily in many areas.
The Japan Weather Association’s weather forecast media “tenki.jp” provides information on autumn foliage at 762 locations famous for their autumn foliage throughout Japan. The site also offers a “Autumn Foliage Viewing Calendar” that combines forecasts of the best time to view autumn foliage and two-week weather forecasts.
