JR Group has added stamps for 12 stations to its browser-based digital stamp collection application “TRAIN TRIP. A campaign to solicit favorite stations (guess station) was conducted on Twitter in October, and from the submissions, two stations were selected by each of the six JR passenger companies. Those who posted the adopted stations will be selected by lottery to receive the “Gachi-Tetsudo” supplement for 12 people.
From JR Hokkaido, Otoi-shifu Station on the Soya Main Line and Hakodate Station on the Hakodate Main Line were selected. At Otoeishifu Station, the stamp features “Otoeishifu Soba” that was once sold at the station. The stamp on Hakodate Station depicts a platform with a curved structure, a remnant of its direct connection to the harbor.
JR East selected Taura Station on the Yokosuka Line and Yatsura Station on the Shinonoi Line. The Taura Station stamp reproduces the scene of three tunnels in a row with different construction periods and a door cut where the train does not enter the platform. The stamp at the Taura station depicts a station sign depicting a switchback and the night view from the platform.
Stamps from JR Tokai include Jokoji Station on the Chuo Main Line and Mikawa-Mitani Station on the Tokaido Main Line. The one from Jokoji Station depicts the Aiki Tunnels, a group of tunnels on an abandoned railway line near the station. The one from Mikawa Mitani Station reproduced the scene of the Mitani Festival, in which floats are carried through the station site.
JR West stamps Takedao Station on the Fukuchiyama Line and Minoshima Station on the Kisei Main Line. The Takedao Station stamp depicts the unusual structure of the station, where half of the platform is inside a tunnel. At Minoshima Station, the inventor and raw materials are illustrated to express the fact that the nearby area is the birthplace of mosquito coils.
From JR Shikoku, stamps from Ichitsubo Station and Ishizuchi Station, both on the Yosan Line. The Ichitsubo Station stamp depicts the character of the station, which is associated with baseball. Ishizuchi Station depicts Mt. Ishizuchi, which gives the station its name, and the “Ishizuchi” express train associated with the mountain.
From JR Kyushu, Senma Station on the Omura Line and Nishi-Oyama Station on the Ibusuki-makurazaki Line were selected. At Senmata Station, the stamp depicts the ocean and sunset seen through the station building. Nishi-Oyama Station depicts the “JR Japan’s Southernmost Station” sign at the station and Mt.
