Huis Ten Bosch (1-1 Huis Ten Bosch-cho, Sasebo, Nagasaki) will hold “Countdown in the City of Light 2023” on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
The event will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during special opening hours, allowing visitors to enjoy a day full of festive moods. The highlight of the event will be Japan’s largest New Year’s Eve fireworks display, which will shoot 8,000 fireworks in 20 minutes; a countdown timer using projection mapping will be set up at various locations throughout the venue, which will be decorated with 13 million illuminated bulbs; and the first 20,000 visitors will receive a New Year hat, an exciting item to bring in the New Year. Guests and staff will unite to celebrate the memorable start of the New Year.
In addition to two popular groups, HKT48 and Haji, special live performances by artists will also be held. The “Live and Fireworks Special Viewing Ticket,” which allows visitors to enjoy these events from special seats, the “Countdown Passport,” which is 500 yen cheaper if purchased in advance by December 24, and the “Year-end and New Year’s Accommodation Plan,” which allows visitors to stay at the adjacent hotel while enjoying the afterglow, are also available for purchase on the official website.
