On November 24, KDDI launched the “au Moves Rent-a-Car” service, which allows users to reserve rental cars within the au PAY application. To commemorate the launch, the “au Moves Car Rental Commemorative Campaign” will be held from November 24 to January 31, 2023.

During the campaign period, au Moves car rental customers can earn up to 20% Ponta points when using the au Moves car rental service, and au Smart Pass Premium members will receive 500 points for every two times they use the service. In addition, the top 10 users of the total amount spent during the period will receive 10,000 bonus points.

au Moves Car Rental is connected to eight major car rental companies in Japan, including Toyota Rent-A-Car, Nippon Rent-A-Car, and Orix Rent-A-Car, and allows users to compare and search over 3,000 car rental stores nationwide on a map before making a rental car reservation. In addition, by entering the name of a train station, airport, or landmark, the service displays the surrounding stores on a map, making it easy to use even when traveling to unfamiliar places.

To use the service, select “Rental Car Reservation” from the “Transportation Reservation” menu of the au PAY application, and enter the place of departure, departure date and time, and return date and time on the search screen. Select a store from the search results, select a plan and options, and enter user information to confirm the reservation details. The reservation completion screen will be displayed when you proceed to make a reservation. A reservation confirmation e-mail will also be sent to the registered e-mail address, and you can also check the rental cars currently reserved on the reservation list screen on the application.
