Weathernews announced the pollen dispersal period and peak for each prefecture.
Cedar pollen dispersion is expected to begin in Kyushu, parts of the Kinki and Tokai regions, and the Kanto region in early February, over large areas of Chugoku, Shikoku, the Kinki and Tokai regions, and parts of southern Tohoku in mid-February, in Hokuriku and southern Tohoku in late February, and in northern Tohoku in early March.
The peak is expected to be from late February to late March for cedar pollen and from late March to mid-April for cypress pollen over a wide area in western and eastern Japan. The amount of pollen dispersed is expected to be lower in northern Japan and Hokuriku than in 2022, but higher in Kanto, Tokai, and western Japan.
