JR Kyushu will add both JCB and American Express brands to the demonstration experiment of the touch payment system for credit cards (Visa) starting in 2022, on December 5. The demonstration period is scheduled to end on March 31, 2023.
During this period, customers can pass through the ticket gates at Hakata, Yoshizuka, Hakozaki, Chihaya, and Kashii stations by holding a card with touch-sensitive payment function or a smart phone over the designated automatic ticket gate. Touch-sensitive payment cannot be used at stations other than the above five stations.
