Hotel Okura will open the Okura Resort Muscat (tentative name) in Muscat, the capital of Oman, located at the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, in 2027.
The project will be the first Okura-branded hotel to enter Oman and the first Japanese-branded hotel in Oman, under an operation and management agreement with Saud Bahwan Group.
Oman is the closest Arab country to Asia with a long history of being a trading center for merchants. It is also known as a pro-Japan country, and in 2022, Oman celebrates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Oman. With its long coastline facing the Indian Ocean, Oman offers marine sports such as dolphin watching, yachting, and diving, as well as sea turtle spawning and hatching during the season.
The Okura Resort Muscat is located in Muscat, the capital city of Oman, on the coastline of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the north of the country. It has a total of 150 guest rooms, with a standard room size of approximately 50 m2 . Rooms offer views of the Al Mouj Golf golf course, the venue for the European Tour, and the Gulf of Oman. The lobby and other public spaces will be designed in the image of a fusion of Omani and Japanese traditions.
The restaurant lineup includes all-day dining, Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki, and fine dining. The hotel also has banquet facilities for various uses, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa, and a gymnasium.
