Prefectural Road No. 41 Naniwa-suji closed to vehicular traffic for the Tokaido Line branch subway line conversion and new Umekita Station, near JR Osaka Loop Line Fukushima Station.

Posted on 2022-12-122022-12-12 by Editor in Chief

Osaka City is aiming to switch underground and open a new station in spring 2023 for the JR Tokaido Line branch line subway conversion project and the Umekita new station installation project.

The line will begin operating on an underground route on February 13, 2023, and the level crossing located at the intersection with the Kujo Umeda Line municipal road will be removed. In conjunction with this, a portion of Prefectural Road 41 Naniwa-suji will be closed to vehicular traffic due to track switching work near the Joshobashi level crossing under Fukushima Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. The closure period is from 10:00 p.m. on February 11 to 6:00 a.m. on February 13.

For traffic during the period, drivers are asked to divert to Amidaike-suji (City Road Dojima Juso Line), Yotsubashi-suji (City Road Nanboku Line), etc. at the Joshobashi Intersection and Fukushima 6 Intersection. The Hanshin Expressway Ikeda direction Fukushima entrance can be accessed by going south from the Fukushima 6 intersection. Since vehicular congestion is expected near the Joshobashi Intersection and Fukushima 6 Intersection, we will promote public awareness to avoid traffic congestion.

Bicycles and pedestrians are allowed on the road, but may be required to detour on some sections.
