Background and Objectives
Japan is a country with a wealth of development experience that has achieved modern nation-building without compromising its traditions and identity. The JICA Chair (JICA Support for Establishment of Japanese Studies Chair) supports the establishment of Japan Studies Chairs at top-level universities and other institutions in developing countries to provide opportunities to learn about Japan’s development experience. In Tajikistan, after introducing the JICA Chair program to the Ministry of Education and Science and major universities in the country, the first lecture was held with Tajik National University as a partner. We plan to continue lectures with the university on the themes of “Japan’s Economy” and “Japan’s Regional Cooperation in Central Asia” in the future.
