Visiting Hours

December 31, 2022 – January 2, 2023: 24 hours possible

January 3, 2023: 0:00 – 21:00

After January 4, 2023: 6:00 – 21:00

Live camera feeds are available on the official website so that visitors can check on the crowded condition of the temple grounds from home, and the temple recommends that visitors wear masks and speak in low voice and moderation when visiting the temple. Some of the gifts and New Year’s prayers can also be applied for online.

Due to anticipated congestion from New Year’s Eve through the first three days of March, traffic regulations will be enforced in the central area of Kamakura City (around Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine). For details, please check the detour route (PDF) published by Kanagawa Prefectural Police.
