With restrictions on international traffic almost on par with pre-Corona levels, it has become more fun to make travel plans. In the midst of all this, the Hawaii Tourism Authority has released a series of virtual tour videos that provide the latest information on hotels and tourist facilities. The 10-minute video includes “I want to go to Hawaii!” and is packed with updated information perfect for those who are thinking, “I want to go to Hawaii!

Among the many hotels in Waikiki, the Sheraton Waikiki is particularly popular among the Japanese. The Sheraton Waikiki has long been a highly popular large resort, but it will undergo a major renovation in 2020. All guest rooms have been renovated with Japanese guests in mind, including toilets with bidet toilets, deep soaking tubs, and easy-to-use handheld showers.

With approximately 1,600 rooms, the Sheraton Waikiki boasts one of the largest number of rooms on Oahu. Of these, more than 130 are suites! One of the best is the Kai Ocean Suite (103m2). The spacious living room has a table and sofa for four, as well as a work desk where you can calmly spread out your laptop. The spacious living room has a table and sofa for four as well as a work desk where you can calmly spread out your laptop, and there is a lanai on both the living room and bedroom sides. The living room side offers a magnificent view of Diamond Head.

The “Large Luxury (approx. 60 m2)” room, with three double beds spaced comfortably apart, is the pride of the Sheraton Waikiki. The room has a dining table with three chairs and amenities for three, making it ideal for a girls’ trip or a family stay. The bathroom is also spacious, with a double sink that can be used by two people at the same time for makeup time.

When you enter the Ocean Front Room (approx. 26 m2), you are struck by the large artwork on the bedboard. This dynamic and beautiful artwork, created by an artist on the island of Oahu, seems to be connected to the Pacific Ocean right in front of you. The desk and nightstand are equipped with USB Type-A/C ports, and the emphasis on functionality, which is essential for today’s travelers, is another major point of this renewal.

Sheraton Waikiki has two pool areas in a prime location in the middle of Waikiki. One of them is the “Hellmore Playground,” a large pool equipped with a water slide and Jacuzzi that is very popular with children. Located right in front of the beach, families can spend the entire day playing in the pool and in the ocean.

The Infinity Edge Pool is located along the beach on the west side of the hotel building. This is an adults-only pool for guests 16 years of age and older, and is one of the most beautiful in Waikiki, seemingly reaching to the horizon. The Sheraton Waikiki has changed the room keys to a wristband type for this renovation. Unlike card keys, you can keep your wristband on you at all times, so you can play in the ocean or pool with peace of mind.

The Sheraton Waikiki is also known for its abundant dining options. In the morning, enjoy a continental breakfast at the breezy Kai Market. The Edge of Waikiki, voted America’s Best Pool Bar, offers fresh Hawaiian salads, flame-grilled burgers, tropical cocktails, and more. For dinner, be sure to dine at RumFire, which offers Pacific Rim cuisine unique to Hawaii with an abundance of locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean and Diamond Head while savoring your Hawaiian moment.
